Since 1978, Prevent Child Abuse Delaware (PCAD) has had one focus- preventing child abuse. What started with one program and four committed parents has now become a statewide agency providing education, advocacy and best practices for children and adults. For 45 years legislators, schools, parents, and community partners have counted on PCAD to be there when needed.
In 2022 PCAD:
- educated 37,000 children through B.E. S.M.A.R.T.
- shared the message of prevention statewide at 99 public schools and 7 charter schools
- trained 294 Foster Parents
- facilitated year around home visit visitor training for agencies serving at risk parents
